About the Journal

The Aim, Focus and Scope

The Journal of Social Sciences, Business and Technology (JSSBT) provides forum for scholarly discourse in all the functional areas of social sciences, entrepreneurship, business, management, administration, innovation and technology. The journal welcomes both theoretical and empirical works from scholars and practitioners all over the world with an objective of advancing conceptual development and improving organizational performance in terms of socio-economic advancements globally.

The focus and scope of the Journal in terms of themes and subthemes include, but not limited to, the following: Social Sciences; Gender;  intersectionality; Humanities, social enterprises; economic development; financial inclusion; business management; administration; Disaster Risk Management; entrepreneurship; innovation; Information Communication and Technology.

Publication Frequency

The journal is published annually, in June.

Copyright Statement

Papers published in JSSBT must be the original work of the author/s that has not been published previously in any manner. Authors retain the copyright of the published papers.

This copyright statement applies with effect from Volume 3 Number 1 (In Volume 1 Number 1, Volume 2 Number 1 and Volume 2 Number 2 published in 2020 and 2021 the copyright owner is the Co-operative University of Kenya). It does not therefore apply to previously published issues.

Plagiarism policy

Papers published in JSSBT must be the original work of the author/s that has not been published previously in any manner. All submitted manuscripts will be subjected to a plagiarism check.

Open Access Policy

JSSBT is an open access journal. The journal endeavors to make research literature available online without price barriers and without most permission barriers. Scholarly articles provided to the Journal are stored, preserved, and made freely accessible in digital form. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is under the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) (2001) definition of open access.

 Licensing terms

JSSBT publications are published under the terms of  Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License. The license lets others remix, adapt, and build upon your work non-commercially, as long as they credit the source.

Article Processing Charges (APC)

The journal does not charge any APC.
